Toro ‘honored’ to help meet the high demands of the U.S. Open.

In case you didn’t see all the red this past week at Chambers Bay, The Toro Co. was the equipment distributor for this year’s U.S. Open.

It’s quite a sight to see 20 Toro fairway mowers heading out of the maintenance shop at four in the morning to attack those fescue fairways.

Boyd Montgomery is a regional business manager for Toro’s Commercial Division. He couldn’t hide is pride at the sight of so much red at the U.S. Open.

We were honored to provide top quality turf equipment to meet the high demands of the U.S. Open,” he said.

We all know it was a stressful week for all involved in pulling off this unusual U.S. Open. Toro was up to the challenge, though.

“We wanted to make sure that the last thing Josh (Chambers Bay Superintendent Josh Lewis) and Eric (Director of Golf Eric Johnson) had to worry about was the equipment. We truly enjoyed the partnership,” Montgomery said.
