They write songs, sing and play guitar and other instruments, but they also hit the little white ball. And some of them hit it very well.
Country music legend Vince Gill hits it the best. Golf Digest ranked him No. 1 in its recent Top 100 in Music.
Gill is a scratch golfer — has been since high school.
Jazz saxophonist Kenny G also made the list, No. 5 with a 2-handicap. G competes almost every year in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Also on the list are Willie Nelson (20-handicap), Kid Rock (18), Stephen Stills (17), Roger Waters (16), Smokey Robinson (12), Glenn Frey (15), Bob Seger (15), Trace Adkins (15), Justin Timberlake (4), Darius Rucker (7) and Huey Lewis (7).
He may not look like a good golfer — or even a golfer, for that matter — but shock rocker Alice Cooper is one of music’s best players with a 13-handicap.
