Advanced Turf Solutions Welcomes Four New Sales Representatives
Advanced Turf Solutions has recently added four new sales representatives to its team: Jeff Kolbe and Joe Leimbach in the lawn and landscape markets in Chicago and Cincinnati, respectively, Brad Fry in the golf course market in Southwestern Michigan, and Brian Winka in the sports turf market in Missouri. From the greater Chicago area, Jeff Kolbe is an experienced outside sales representative with 30 years in the industry. A graduate of Waubonsee Community College, Kolbe’s professional background includes landscaping, customer service, sales, and business development. Joe Leimbach joins the Advanced Turf Solutions sales team with over 15 years of experience in golf course management, product distribution, and sales. Leimbach has a Bachelor of Science in Golf Course Management from Morehead State University and holds a Pesticide Commercial Applicator License for the State of Ohio. Brad Fry is a former golf course superintendent with 20 years in the industry. He was previously the superintendent of Harbor Shores Golf Club. Earlier in his career, Fry was also an assistant superintendent at Broadmoor Country Club and Sagamore Golf Club and operations manager for Olympia Fields Country Club. Fry has a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management from Purdue University. Brian Winka brings decades of experience in turfgrass and grounds management and was previously the sports turf manager of Chesterfield Valley Sports Complex in St. Louis. Winka has a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Missouri State University and became a Certified Field Manager through the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) in 2008. Winka is currently a chairperson for the STMA Certification Committee and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Sports Field Magazine.
Brandt Hires Ken Mangum As National Sales Manager For Turf Products
Ken Mangum has accepted the position as National Sales Manager for BRANDT’s turf business, which includes the BRANDT®, GRIGG™ and BRANDT® iHammer product lines. In this role, Mangum will oversee the company’s turf and ornamental territory sales managers, engage key customers and work with the senior management team to set the strategic direction for the turf team. Mangum will report to John Guglielmi, BRANDT Specialty Formulations National Sales Director.
SiteOne® Kicks Off Golf Early Order Program
SiteOne Landscape Supply is offering an early order program for golf industry professionals effective now until December 31, 2017. The program offers superintendents extended payment options or pay in full discounts, multiple promotional offers from major brands, rebates on LESCO®product purchases, plus reward and rebate options based on purchase volume. Superintendents can opt to receive product delivery by April 1, 2018 and defer payments to three installments over the summer of 2018. They can also choose to pay in full within 30 days and receive a 3% discount off their entire order. The Greg Norman Company, Verizon and Club Car Announce ‘Shark Experience’
The Greg Norman Company (GN) and Verizon announced “Shark Experience,” a new golf technology that enhances the on-course experience. The connected golf cars will include a touchscreen display and built-in speakers with Bluetooth connectivity – all exclusive to Club Car golf cars. Golfers will enjoy curated content from Verizon including streaming music via Slacker Radio, live sports and highlights, news and entertainment in addition to Greg Norman golf tips, dynamic yardage information, and more. The Shark Experience enables a seamless, cashless experience from course to Clubhouse. Shark Experience is currently in pilot and will preview at the 2018 PGA Show. The new technology will be featured on Club Car vehicles and will roll out at select golf courses across the U.S. throughout 2018. In addition to the curated content available at launch, features including hole-in-one technology, food and beverage ordering, Shot Tracer and more will become available as the platform evolves.
Greenworks Commercial Joins GCSAA Disaster Relief Fund in Aiding Golf Course Maintenance Staffs Hardest Hit by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma
Greenworks Commercial announced that it would join forces with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Disaster Relief Fund, in efforts to aid golf course maintenance staffs in Texas and throughout the Southeast that were severely impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Greenworks Commercial will donate nearly $10,000 worth of its industry-leading, lithium-ion battery-powered, outdoor equipment to golf course superintendents to help with their sizeable clean-up jobs once flood waters have receded. Greenworks will supply its brand new 82-volt Pole Saw and its award-winning 82-volt Chainsaw, along with the necessary batteries and chargers to ensure maximum run-time and power. Both tools are ideally suited for eliminating problem tree limbs and clearing out other debris littering the course and areas surrounding club amenities.
