A recent report out of England suggests that workers who keep a plant on their desks or near their workstations take fewer sick days and tend to be happier and more productive.
“It’s all about feeling involved with your job, and somehow a plant on your desk makes all the difference,” said Mark Hall of Protecting.co.uk, an organization that offers advice, assistance and risk assessments to businesses on health and safety issues.
Results show that providing a greener office space shows an immediate increase in productivity, as well as a long-term 15 percent decline in sick leave.
If this is true, golf course superintendents, who are surrounded by greenery, must be the happiest employees on the planet. And their crew members are so full of glee that they have perfect attendance, no?
