What’s a day in the life for you in your job? It varies from on-course interactions with customers, internal planning, media relations, dealer interaction. No two days are ever the same.

What should golf course superintendents know about your organization that they don’t already know? John Deere is extremely dedicated to its customers and the golf industry. We strive daily to improve our customers’ experiences and help further the golf industry.

When you’re gone from the golf industry, how do you want to be remembered? I want my legacy to be one of a person who made an impact within John Deere and in the golf industry, and as someone who was always there when needed. It would also be nice to be remembered as someone who could always make you laugh.

If you were born 100 years ago, what would you do for a living? I’d probably be a fisherman or wood worker.

Who is your hero? My mother and my kids are my heroes. My mother is a cancer survivor and my kids amaze me daily with how they carry themselves.

What’s the best thing about the golf industry? The people

What’s the worst thing about the golf industry? The pressures put on our customers to achieve perfection.

What golf course can’t you wait to get on and why? I have two — The Old Course at St. Andrews, the home of golf; and Beaver Meadow in Concord, New Hampshire, because that means I’m playing with my kids.

Describe golf course superintendents in one word? Relentless

Who would you rather play golf with –– Arnie or Jack? Why? Arnie; I am always in pursuit of the perfect Arnold Palmer. But I would take either any day.

If you were a super hero, who would you be and why? Superman. It would be nice to have the ability to fly when I want, instead of waiting around at airports.

What do you like to do away from your job? I enjoy reading, golfing and watching my sons compete in athletics. I also enjoy relaxing in a really nice hammock!

What is your all-time favorite song? “Blue Sky” by The Allman Brothers

What’s your favorite movie and why? Tommy Boy. The bees’ scene!

Speaking of movies, who’s your favorite character from “Caddyshack”? Carl Spackler. Bill Murray always steals the show.
